tank protector

does anyone make a decent clear tank protector? that you cant see? similar to the "invisible bra" for cars? lots of bikes get custom paint but they usually dont have tank bras lol-and alotta customs arent commuters....i dont wana incorporate the tank bra into the paint scheme, but i dont want my shit scratched up, and i really dont wana easily see it. so a normal "clear" one is no good. any help/links? maybe just use some clear vinyl?

and on a side note is 140(thats including shipping) a gd deal for superbike lines and 1054 pads from galfer? new.

yeah I had one on the ZZr... hold on I'll find the link

http://www.thetankslapper.com/

they're not adhesive... they stick by static... but don't move...

edit: I loved mine... though they will discolor if you get gas on it... but they're cheep so you can replace them easy.

when you're putting it on... make sure you have a hair dryer handy... heat up the tank and the tank protector... then soak the tank with water from a spray bottle... then place the tank protector on and work out the air from the middle to the edge... takes awhile but I got mine so you couldn't tell it was there unless I told ya

not the greatest pic... but the best I have.... the tank protector is on in this pic... never mind Rae... she's having a seizure

I had a tankslapper too and have nothing but good things to say about them.

The tankslapper product is static cling but the company will also sell you 3M adhesive backed film too.

I actually did a combo of the static and adhesive on my last bike.

Like ebbs said, if you weren't told it was there, you'd never know. I even told people it was on the bike and they still couldn't find it!

I had one on my SV650. Here it is in the photo. Can you see it? That's right, you can't!

They're great. Don't be afraid to stretch it to fit during application and it will all but disappear. As long as you have clearcoated paint, it won't go anywhere once it's on there.

God, looking at that photo again makes me miss that bike.

that static thing is pretty cool ebbs...

but if you don't mind adhesive, you can always get a $30 clear stomp grip which not only protects your tank, but also functions as a grip. it really comes in handy for me.

That's what I use now, stomp grip. Here's mine:

I'm going on my third season with it on there, and it shows no signs of peeling or yellowing. It's a little discolored where my knees rub, but that's probably just material from my pants.

nice bike! the good thing about that is if it does eventually peel, all you have to do is heat it with a heat gun or blow dryer, peel, and wd-40 that shit and your'e good.
