Scotts damper weird install???

I won this Scotts damper setup for my '01 vfr. I'm guessing its an older setup since Scotts website shows every bike with now with the bigger replacement steering nut and the mounting bracket with set screws.

I'm guessing I have to drill/tap into my triple. I didnt get a chance to call the seller. What do ya'll think?

That's how the older mounts were. I had to do the same thing a few years back on my 929...

I dont want to drill into my triple. I'll just find a new mount kit then.

I wonder if another bike has the same size steering nut cause I dont want to pay $140 for just two pieces I need.
