Not bad at all.... got nice and warm soon as I got out of Ohio and into Kentucky. Went through some freezing rain between Columbus and Cincinnati, but once south of Cincy it all dried up, the sky turned blue, and the temps went up. Then it was gravy the rest of the way home. This was part of a 2 week trip.... I went from Atlanta to central Illinois, then to Chicago, then back to central Illnois, then to Columbus, OH, then back to Atlanta. The worst ride was from central IL to Columbus last Friday.... about 350 miles. I left Decatur, IL abotu 11am and it was 18 degrees, stopped for a break in Montezuma, Indiana and it was 16 degrees and snowing, then got to Columbus at 9pm and it was 15 degrees (1 degree with windchill). I was layered up and wearing leathers so my body was perfectly warm... wasn't even shivering (until I stopped and got off the bike and had my helmet and gloves off). Had nice heavy duty winter gloves + heated grips which kept my hands perfectly warm. Only thing getting cold was my feet... they were freezing. Also getting ice buildup on the inside of my visor. Just had to stop every so often and take a break to warm up. No biggie though, I made it, no problems
This wasn't the first roadtrip I've done on my bike... I do lots of them. Bike just turned 4 years old in October (I bought it new 10-17-04 with 3 miles) and it currently is about to turn 143,000. I love roadtrips!
