Your reasoning is pretty much spot on why I bought the Tuono. I like the performance of the SS bikes, but hate the aching back. I'm only 30 and can't see my back getting any better!
I can do 600 mile days touring, keep up with the 600's in the twisty bits, and have relatively good power. After 17k she is running strong, and almost paid off
