For me, with filter change, it always takes right around 2.75, or a little bit more. (after I run it and let the oil circulate a bit, obv) I pour 2.5 right in, then go from there. The amount that came out with the filter, or how long you let the drain go, or what orientation/ground the bike was on can make it move around a little bit.
