Suck! Sorry man!
I would recommend you give the flywheel and crank a good look-see. I had similar damage to an FZR600 I had probably 15 years ago and I ended up tweaking the crank.
I'd hate to see you put a bunch of money into repairing it only to find out the motor needs to be gone into after the fact.
