Actually, yes, and not so much because of the synthetic opiod itself (which is a narcotic), but the fact that it is often "bundled" with acetaminophen.

Principally because acetaminophen significantly raises the risk of fatal overdose due to liver toxicity when taken with ANY amount of alcohol.

While Naproxin gives longer relief (~12 hours), my experience is that Ibuprofen (~6 hrs relief) is faster acting, and when your head hurts, minutes count.
