I prefer women's cut tees, too.
The ONLY potential problem I'd see with that is that women's tees are typically a different rib knit than standard/unisex tees (i.e. they're stretchier to maintain shape). With a big graphic across the chest, it could distort the design. So it might be better to go with a unisex in the longrun.
