It's not just saving money. Buying the best off the shelf ammo for my Ruger MK II in .300 win mag got me 1.3" groups at 100 yards ( on a bench with sand bags )
Hand loading gives me .58" groups.
Also, even though I hand load for all my rifles and pistols ( except .22 rim fire), the ONLY ammo that goes in a weapon for self defense is factory ammo.
The last thing I need is a lawyer going after me because I handloaded "super death ammo" if i had to protect myself or family.
