Exactly. And those "short ram intake" gheyness do neither.

All they do is suck in warm underhood air.

And those "heat shields" they sell don't help much.

In my day, we'd use a longer pipe that stretched almost all the way to the ground. Or tunneled it into a hole in the front spoiler.
