Sorry, I read it wrong thinking person A wanted to give your date person B's phone number through you. I had to go back and read they wanted you to give up your date's number.
When I was single I hung out with a pretty large group of riding friends. I guess I was a good wingman
occasionally someone outside of that circle would give me their number through someone in the circle. Granted, I didn't ever go out with the person dishing a number that way, but it's not uncommon.
