And when I tell them we spend incredible amounts of money, risk our lives, and fight tooth and nail for a little piece of chrome covered plastic and wood they just kinda stare and nod..."Ummm, Uh Huh, OK then look at the time"
I love my championship jacket and it is a great conversation starter. Some don't think you win them and ask how much a jacket like that costs. I throw out what it takes to run the season, 11 races worth of entry fees, travel accomadations, equipment, tires, and spares, and they get all confused...Still I hold those trophies and that jacket in higher esteem than I do my high school and college diplomas...
