"Am I black?"
A girl at work was talking about not being included in some testing. And then she dropped this bomb:
"What? Am I black?"   So I called her out on it saying it was not only a poor choice of words, but a very poor reflection on her. Now there's a big hullabaloo and I will probably going into HR soon.  But honestly....who says that?

I've heard it lots.
Part of growing up in the south. It's a pretty stupid question: She's obviously not black since she has a job.

Ya, its pretty common. Definateley not unheard of. I have probably said it once or twice myself. But we've had this conversation, I didnt know ANYONE liked black people before I was old enough to leave this area.

I can't believe someone would say that these days...I thought that everyone used 'Mexican' nowadays...well except for the Mexicans...I think they say 'illegal alien' in this instance.

She should have replaced "Black" with "Chopped Liver".
She still would have wound up crying in the bathroom, but the reasons would have been completely different. JC
