I don't think a class 3 is all that expensive to get (less than $500 if I remember correctly), it just takes a long ass time, if your local law enforcement allows it at all. The real expense comes in purchasing a class 3 weapon not limited to law enforcement only. I like WWII era weapons. I'd love to get a full auto Thompson, but not at $15,000 or more. Same goes for a Browning Automatic Rifle, but not for $20k+.
