Hey all you buellidiots....
"Buell has added another liquid-cooled steed to its stable of streetfighter, sport and adventure sportbikes for 2009.
A café racer for the 21st century, the new 1125CR nods respectfully to the past with clubman bars, flyscreen and a tail cowl, while a 146-hp, liquid-cooled 1125cc v-twin engine and Buell Intuitive Response Chassis (IRC) deliver the performance and handling of a modern superbike. Final-drive gearing is lowered about 8 percent from the 1125R to optimize acceleration. "Part superbike and part streetfighter, the 1125CR is my vision of a 21st century café racer," said Erik Buell, chairman and chief technical officer at Buell Motorcycle Company. "It's got Clubman-style bars and a flyscreen instead of a fairing. Then we geared it down to optimize acceleration. With a class-leading weight-to-horsepower ratio, the 1125CR takes streetfighter performance to a new level." Other models in the Buell lineup also get tweaked for the new model year. Buell XB Lightning Streetfighters get blacked-out frames, forks, engines and other components for 2009. Lightning models powered by the Thunderstorm 1203 engine upgrade to the four-pad, eight-piston front caliper that debuted on the 1125R in 2008. The XB12Ss gets fitted with the same supermoto-inspired suspension as the 2008 XB12STT, and the new seat on the 2009 XB9SX lowers the seat height by 1.3 inches to 30.1 inches. The Buell 1125R is available in new body and wheel colors and with tinted windscreens for 2009. Also new for 2009 on the 1125R and 1125CR models are targeted fuel injectors, relocated O2 sensors, and updated engine spark and fuel maps. Buell claims the combination of these features offers improved drivability below 6000 rpm, crisper throttle response, improved heat management, and significantly improved fuel economy. The updated engine spark and fuel maps will also be made available for 2008 1125R models. Also new is the Buell Ulysses Police XB12XP "special duty" motorcycle intended for government agencies and private security firms requiring pursuit-and-patrol vehicle capable of travel over a variety of road surfaces. It comes equipped with a special wiring harness for installation of an Emergency Response Kit, which includes special compact, hard-shell top and side cases, a siren and LED police pursuit lamps. Buell reports that the Lightning XB12S and Lightning Super TT XB12STT will not be produced for 2009." im on the fense, no hating on my part, i just like to call names |

I'd like to see what's under those gynormous covers on either side, they make the bike look like "Hanz und Franz". If you could ditch those then it might be a good looking bike, but as is it's got WAY too much plastic!

I's trying way too hard to be a B-King when it should try to be the Street Triple. Put dual rounds and a jagged flyscreen up front, and uncover those rads, and you have a hot fighter.

As much as I hate to go with the crowd,I'd like that bike a lot better without the scoops. They always make me think of Raisin Bran and bowel movements! Although,I will say it looks much better in the black version. I think Erik Buell is the Pablo Picasso of motorcycle design. I know this doesn't pertain to everyone but it seems to me that you buy a Buell for reasons other than looks.

Yeah, I like everything but the scoops. Maybe even if they were just all flat black like at the tips it would look better.

they are oversized on that bike. the fairing on the 1125R kinda made them blend in... on that one they stick out like a swolen thumb... I do prefer the black frame/wheels and red accents. And I am anxious to see how the new "updates" help economy and drivablitiy below 6K (tho it's really only below 4K that's an issue) But dear god, they geared it DOWN?!?!?!?! It will be impossible to keep the front end down!
