Haven't the foggiest. Might just sack up and buy a $150 rack. I'm a software engineer, I suck at hardware.

Red is tubular steel, black is flat steel, blue arrow indicates where you need to weld, brown is the luggage, orange are the bolts. See attachments.

Run a couple bolts straight through the bottom and through the seat. That should keep it solid!

Having done a few hours of research, my opinion is this: avoid buying this case. You should buy a luggage system. Buying a bag by itself means that you need to find a rack to mount on your bike and then mount the bag to the rack. It's easier to just get a bag + rack system that is built for your bike.
If your bike/scooter already has a large rack, this bag will work great. But it's a pain for an SV because there's no good rack that will fit it. I could look into a custom rack as described above but I just want to save others the trouble of having to do the same. As a side note, anyone know anyone in Austin that will custom fab a rack as described above? |

Any thoughts on how this would hold up it it were to be mounted vertically along side the tail of a bike? Or is this the type of bag that should only be mounted horizontally so that the door opens up? I am still contemplating buying 2 of them to make saddlebags

What I do recommend if you go that way, get some bags that fit them as close as possible to the size. I use Kathy Journey bags for my side cases that are made specifically to fit my cases.

I dunno. I mean, telling everyone to not buy it just because you didn't do research prior seems kinda one-sided. I mean, it's not that big of a deal to make something.
Here, I researched for you: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade...tview/236/202/ Now, go price out a Givi system and tell me which you would prefer.
