So is there any performance gain in putting on an open primary? It looks heavier that the stock setup. ie, more rotational mass producing less overall power.

Heavier? At the common weight of those bikes would it really matter?

no its usually lighter. Plus you have less rotational mass because the belt weights almost nothing. The chain is a double chain and weights a crap load. I guess there may be less drive train power loss due to this but nothing I have saw in factual print.

Yep, just a qrt. In a primary there is no need for more. The chain and clutch just have to pass thru it and fling it all around.

Ya know... being summer you can expect more rotation of the regular bikes aka the guys I ride with. Caveman brought over his 08 Ultra. It needed some "once over" being he bought it used. Also a complete oil change, scavenger, trans and primary oil changed. Clutch adjusted, rear air suspension adjustment, rear belt deflection check/adjust, replace/adjust highway pegs, remove front bumper, lube pivits, check fasternors, etc...
It's no wonder why it takes us 4 hours. Well of coarse we do have some fun while we're at it... Can you fit a 240# 6' guy in a Little Tikes plastic kids car? Yes, YES you can! ![]() And you can't always drink beer. Sometimes you need to hydrate. Too bad when the guy you were just making fun of is the guy you ask for a water. You should expect something like this... Nice cup Caveman! ![]() The holligan behavior is so contagious. |
