I'm in the, "if they were sposed to look like that they'd have been born looking that way" group. If it's a medical necessity it's one thing, but unless amputation is needed to save the life or health, it's mutilation.

Good argument.
 I hear ya on the tail thing, however I still wouldnt do that unless my dog was having a real issue. Alot of the breeds, like pits and such have theirs done because with the whiplike quality they of them they beat them against hard surfaces and end up with sores, abcesses and can do major nerve damage. Other breeds like terriers used for hunting were done to prevent the prey they were after from getting ahold of them. Since most breeds are no longer used for those purposes I just dont see the point. Trip, the difference being, we make our own choice to do things like tats, boobs or piercings. When's the last time you family pet asked you to chop his ears off?
