All the good places to ride on the streets around Vegas are federal, that means huge tickets. Plus, I saw a lot of accidents and some deaths out there. I hadn't ridden on the street in over a year when I borrowed my roomate's bike to go on a group ride a month or so ago. I hated it, I don't miss riding on the street at all. The track is just so much more fun and so much safer. I know a lot of people who commute on their bikes and can't give it up, but I wouldn't do it, I hate the drivers here.

I can appreciate what you're saying but I still don't like the negative sell aspect of all this. I'm gonna curse myself but I haven't gotten a speeding ticket on a bike in over 4 years and other than 2 minor crashes which were single vehicle,ie my stupid fault-could have happened at the track the same way. I haven't had a crash involving a car since 2001. You all always approach these types of threads from the worst case scenario. "You are guaranteed tickets" and "you're gonna crash for sure". I ride every day weather permitting. I couldn't afford to ride on a track more than one or two days a month(= $400+ a month),I'd quit riding all together if the track was my only option.

Are you saying that you can log as many miles/hours on the track as I do on the street for less money?I mean seriously,a track day costs about $200minimum. Just to be able to ride 4x a month would cost you around $1000 by the time you figure gas for the hauling vehicle, etc. I agree that the track is a great place to hone your riding skills. I'll even concede that it's safer. Heck,I'll go along with everyone should try it,but to limit your riding to strictly track days....you must have DEEP pockets!
