With Ducati American owned, Mv Agusta American owned, Bennnili and Vespa Chinese owned and Aprilla Austrian powered is there a proper Italian bike left?

You must be thinking of MV. Besides, what really matters is where HQ is - in the current global economy, shareholders tend to invest around the world. H-D doesn't make MV an American motorcycle company any more than Vanguard buying huge positions in Honda Motor Co. makes them an American Co.

Correct. Ducati used to be American owned (Texas Pacific Group), but this is no longer the case.

Speaking of the Bologna product, the proper Italian.
