A republican won Ted Kennedy's old senate seat. He was a democrat that held it for 50 years or something in a true liberal state.

It gives enough votes for the republicans to start filibustering in the senate, which means the senate will stop doing the little work they did do.

Dude MA has always been way liberal......I wouldn't put too much faith in them turning sides. For most voters, sadly, it's all about who speaks better and looks better and "seems" like a better leader.

MA is catholic Kennedy liberal though. They will toss out the democrats if they get too san francisco liberal. They tend to be a lot more moderate.
