I thought PRK was old skool, why is it still being done? Is it for people who for some reason can't do Lasik?

Fewer side effects and less expensive.

After reading all this I can't believe anyone would choose PRK over Lasik - it's way more down-time to heal and seems like a LOT more pain and hassle. I'll take my chances of that flap tearing (which to be honest I have a better chance of winning the lottery than that happening) than deal with all the stuff you mention.....

Hope it works out and you heal up ok though....

Have a follow-up appointment tomorrow morning.

Sounds like my own vision.

Because when you crash, the flap made for lasik can open and expose your eye to the dust and debris flying up as you skid along the pavement. PRK doesn't have that side effect. The Air Force only allows PRK patients to slide through for this reason.
