I would still say that jeans are better than nothing. They aren't going to do much though.

I was wearing jeans when I crashed, I got road rash on both knees, but my ass was fine and I rolled quite a ways. That was muy importante to me.

I prefer to wear it, period. I also wear knee guards and armored shorts if the pace is going to be hot. I even have kevlar jeans, nylon pants and *gasp* leather pants if I feel that the situation warrants them. What I really can't understand is why people like you can't just mind your own business and let people wear whatever they want to ride. You guys are like vegetarians or Moonies or something, yeesh!
Are you fucking kidding me? A pole smoker like you telling everyone to mind their own business. Take your own advice, dick.

Clipped from the survey results . . .

Yea... but your survey doesn't PROVE that denim is ineffective, it states the premise as a given. Like most surveys, it structures the questions in such a way to forward your own preconceived ideas. Show me some lab tests, not opinions. I could go to any bike night or Harley bar and make up a survey that would show 90% of bikers believe that denim is adequate protection.

Hell even a wife beater t-shirt would offer enough protection for some in that category.....

Personally I'm grateful for it because I didn't know dick about gear when I started riding. SBN and Cycleforums members saved me some serious pain and scars over the past 10 years. Aside from that I've seen far too many "I wish I would've worn some gear" threads from guys like you over the years as well.
Nah he jumped in with you...
