Default Anyone have Heli-Bars for their 2nd Generation SV650S?

Before I drop some (what I'd consider) serious coin on these things I want to see if anyone else has any experience with them. As I ride more and more (and, let's face it, as I get older) I am looking for a more upright riding position for long distances. I love the SV though and want to keep it as long as possible.

Anyone try these things? Thoughts?

I don't have them, but my friend, Cliff, has them on his SV and loves them. Says they're well worth the money.

I have it on my '07 Busa and I can ride it 14-15 hours a day. It's amazing how much difference it can make. This picture will tell you. A little over 17 months and with these many miles.

did you put them on yourself or did you have them installed?

If you did them, how difficult were they to put on?

Sorry, I tend to do lots of research when I spend money these days

well, just went to order them and got a call within 5 minutes saying that they just filled the last order for SV's and they're on backorder for a month of more (they were really nice on the phone though, kudos to them for letting me know - extra points for customer service). Any other suggestions? I want to have more comfortable bars on there before the summer is half way over. I'd prefer not to do a handlebar conversion (would rather stay with clipons).

No dice. Looks like a handlebar conversion is in my future. I love my bike and want to be able to go farther without having to pick up another bike (just no room for of right now). I'll probably order sometime over the next couple of days. Eventually I'll want to throw some adjustable rearsets on... Not sure where to even start there

I think I'm going to go with the LSL Handlebar Rider Kit from Spiegler:

Anyone ever try these things?

well, I decided to wait (ie I procrastinated ). In the meantime, I got a call from Heli saying that someone had returned their bars because they didn't want them and asked if I was still interested (talk about customer service - holy cow, kudos to them).

Got them and it took about 40 minutes to put them on the bike. Only trouble I'm having is that the brake line is hitting the fork tube when I try turning the lever down - need to mess with that some. Other than that, it's noticable that they're higher and further back. I'll use them for a while but I think I will eventually go with the LSL kit because I want to be even more upright. I'm still leaning too far forward and it hurts my neck more than anything after a while.

Moral to the story though: Heli has kickass customer service.
