I've got a Canon...takes great pictures...but I can tell you that the Nikon is probly better in low light. Unless you're going higher than the digital Rebel.

Plenty of entry level DSLRs on sale these days, with at least one and sometimes two kit lenses, for under $600.00 in Canada.

... or this setup, which looks to be damned good for a beginner, or even semi-advanced amateur.

Well new employment opportunites are in the works so maybe I'll treat myself. We'll see.
