I used to be the Yamaha posterboy! I had a '95 FZR1000 which got stolen from the dealership,so I bought a YZF1000 with the insurance money. BTW both bikes were pieces of shit and the reason I went to Suzuki. The FZR blew the clutch basket and smoked the motor and the YZF had to have the trans rebuilt and the engine rebuilt a few times. I kept losing shift dogs in the trans and I kept burning oil in the engine. It was funny because Yamaha never flinched at footing the bill... Anyway,I traded the YZF in for a 'Busa and never looked back...

damn that sucks, my old FZR was a piece of shit, but i've had 3 R1's that were all pretty awesome, not as awesome as my Gsxr, but never had any trouble with them

Very nice. My hubby almost bought a FZR400 to race, but then decided against it. It's a pretty cool bike, any of them.

I love the FZRs with round headlights. I too almost had an 89 1000 once awhile back, and recently was lookin at a 95. decided against the newer one, and the older one the guy didnt want to trade out for.
