Rebuild? Start? I doubt these bikes will ever experience either. I'm not usually a fan of that sort of thing but I guess sometimes things like this need to be preserved.

I used to FAWN over those bikes in magazines.

My friend runs a dealership in Winchester. He has a "new in crate" 1986 GSXR750 limited homologation bike. I told him if he ever uncrates it to call me and I will buy it for MSRP. It's perfect with the exception of a little blue spray paint on the tail section from where he sneaked into the warehouse and sprayed paint into the crate when he was 9 years old. He said it will probably wax out.

MSRP was only $6K for that bike.

I have ridden with a guy in our area that bought an RC30. He took it out on a group ride about 10 years ago. Wicked bike. He didn't baby it at all as he has raced WERA for years on the professional level, just not on this bike.
