The Akita is what I wanted before buying our current home in a residential neighborhood. We started to buy out in the country with more outside room but since we didn't we got the Akita's "mini-me"...the Shiba Inu. They are both from Japan.

The breeders that we bought him from bred Akita's and Shiba's.

When I bought my snake way back in the day the pet store had a rescued boa that they were trying to save... it's previous owner fed it live and a rat chewed a big ass hole in the side of it... Snakes do not heal very quickly and even a minor bite can turn ugly once infection sets in...

You could always clip their teeth, but that's fucking horrific... I tried it once... It was like nails on a chalkboard only x1,000,000. I moved on to killing the mice immedately before feeding... Thawing frozen ones was too gross...

**Adam is allergic too...that's why he bought him for me...and yeah, Tai is NOT into dogs. My sister brought her dog here once, and Tai was foaming at the mouth, NO lie, he went bananas he was flying through the house on the walls and spitting everywhere, I never seen anything thing like it before. Poor little dog just sat there watching.

Triumph on the right is really not a small cat, but he looks it next to Eva. Does your MC play in her water bowl a lot? And as to playing in her water or washing things...well, she is a bit strange, she likes to wash my fingers while I pet her. The wind changing direction could kill them theyre so damn sensitive. I had been considering getting some but def a lot of upkeep for them and my cats woul dlike them but I doubt they would like the cats :lol:

They will only drink dripping water which is the biggest pain. You have to set up a drip system or mist them multiple times a day. Mine learned to drink from a waterfall.

Shadow, my almost 4 year old JRT. Total pain in my ass some times but he has "blossomed" into a wonderful friend and dog.

He is back in Atlanta keeping my Mother company these days but I am hoping to bring him up to Alaska within two years. Might have to get the little guy a sweater or something, at -20 he wouldn't even be able to go on a decent walk.

They are "pits" the snake uses to sense heat from warm-blooded prey. Helps them hunt. I'm surprised that boa has so many. Most snakes I have seen had two like the rattler below.

Most pythons have those heat sensitive pits my carpets have them as do most of the pythons.

I seem to give off alot of heat, the mrs calls me her personal furnace :lol: and these snakes will strike at something giving off alot of heat so I tend to keep larger snakes away from my head. Heard too many people getting bitten in the face by large pythons and it does not look like fun.

I give off about the same amount of heat as a snake, so I never have to worry about it. I know people who cant even stand at the glass without the snakes waking up and striking, simply because they are so warm. Never have I been so glad to be an ice cube!

She is pretty predictable. Anytime we make her angry, she runs into the kitchen and makes a mess out of her water bowl. :lol: She splashes the water all over the floor, pushes the bowl out into the middle of the kitchen, then runs back to crawl on us with her wet paws. Silly kitty.
