You see that across the board though be it scientists, scholars or true musical prodigies/artists. They spend all their time working on their craft their social skills may be lacking or just have those off personalities.

Plenty of metal is talent. Even if the vocals aren't high-quality, at least the other band members have talent with instruments. Most top 40 music doesn't have any instruments, it's just a singer on top of a studio track.

I like some of their stuff but am also into stuff like dream theater, queensryche, symphony x...... most of those bands are very talenmted top to bottom buut aqgain arent overly popular because people may not want to listen to a 15 minute song withcrazy arrangements and a lot of instrumental stuff.
