Basically Stew will come in and try to make you feel comfortable about what is happening. He will take away some features like member list and sometimes the search feature in the name of "security." He will put up ads and tell you how to block them with your browser and how you can get rid of more by becoming a member. Then he will disappear and it will be impossible to get anything changed or to make anything associated with the website like t-shirts/kickstand pucks/rallys. More ads will appear, less VS presence will be there to assist how slow the website becomes with all their "improvements." Someone will create a new website and the site will become only populated with noobs

When you sell to VS you sign a contract of secrecy. If they don't lie about what is going on, they lose money. VS contracts last for awhile and the people that sold out to them will be required to stay on til transition is complete. They were legally obligated to lie to you about what was going. Gixxernation.com use to have all the information about what happens when you sell out to VS.

I know, I was just joking with you. But really it was to be expected. A large forum like that is not really a financially sound operation on its own. I'd guess the major reason Rez was even willing to foot the bandwidth bill was because it helped draw people into shopping at TrickTape. On its own it's not really viable unless you load it up with ads and charge people for memberships. Rob and Nancy made the decision that was best for their family. I can't blame them for that since I'd do the same thing. We were all a "family" over there, but real-world family trumps online family.

yeah best thing to do IMO... is heat it up... then soak it with goo gone... start pry'n up the edges... spry more goo gone... then let it soak in... say a min or two... then try with the soft paint scraper... use libral amounts of goo gone... and if you hit a tough part... just soak it in goo gone... and let it sit again...

haven't had a sticker that it didn't work on.

I just didn't know where at the time.

I guess concentrating on doing right by Rez and ignoring who is in control while you figure things out is the best course of action for now. I won't try to sway you either way. This board exists as a last resort. I wish I could post the endless threads we had on TwoWheelForum.com in the mod section begging Stew to let us do things to fix the board to stop the flow of regulars leaving the board because of the "improvements" VS made to our forum. This forum was started as a joke between the moderators and was agreed that this would be the best way to proceed by all of the moderators that I could call on the phone at TWF. It absolutely took everything out of me to turn my back on the board that got me into riding and became my home. It was not something I wanted to do. The forum admin before Stew, Shanman14, was a good guy and I pretty much destroyed his baby by creating this board. That is my biggest regret when it comes to the creation of this board is that I had to destroy his baby to get our home back.

When CFers started coming to my board, I had no idea it was even going on. I was on my honeymoon all last week and my board went from having my core group of friends at ~260 members to close to 400 members when I got home. I would like to meet the person that is saying that I am promoting my board to destroy your home, because I had no idea of it until after the fact.

Rogue invited me, because we've talked on the phone enough and on the board that she knows my personality and that I would not be a happy camper. I am anti-big-business, and this (CF fiasco) is a perfect example of why. They take something built out of love and mutate it into something hateful. I loved CF and spent more time there than on any of the 8 or 9 boards I'm a member of. CF is gone as far as I'm concerned, but what made me love that place was not the place, but the people who made it what it was. Most of those people are here now...welcome home, my friends. I'm not even sure I know who and what was saying what, where and when has also not been disclosed, but it sounded like the exodus had a shady beginning and the bad stuff being said about VS was just good old business backstabbery. (something I truly hate)

at the same time, though, some things don't look as accidental as others and the more time goes by, the more I'll know.

I'm asking questions and wondering what to believe. I'll know the truth when I want to see it, or see it, depending on how it turns out I suppose. you guys could ruin CF for me just by leaving.

First Happy Marriage and congratulations. Second, thanks for giving all of us CF exodusers a new place to chat. It is hard to already see what CF has become - the monstrosity of add (which will just grow), the post count has decreased (as the regulars have left).

I have to say that I was at CF more for the people than the forum itself. It is painful to watch people bitch and moan and tear each other apart. I am sure that things will quiet down there... and hopefully pick up here.

My take on it is this forum was started as a selective membership board to escape VS bullshit. I don't really advertise it's here and we grow by word of mouth to people we like and want to have as part of this forum. If a member really aggravates a good percentage of the board, they usually are pretty good about running them off. I don't really ban, the forum usually takes care of that for me. If you like it here, feel free to stay. I am not going to beg anyone to stay that came over to from your board. However, a lot of the people I have chatted with here are good people and I hope ya'll stay around. Anyway, welcome to the Fix.
