simply because their use was outside their intended scope. They were designed and conceived for a different tactical role and then forced into a different kind of implementation. The F4 was just better suited and adaptable, just like my 1125R! It does evrything my 600s were asked to do on the highways but better....

haha nice analogy. I blame the transitional times and the amazing pace that technology had in those times. I cant imagine that the air force and navy were well equipped to properly utilise those planes.
