)Both 07's. My take: Bandit 1250. Very torquey off the bottom, never run out of low end, almost as good as a Vtwin but smoother, remains smooth all the way through to redline. Very comfortable, good seat, ergos and set about right, and decent wind protection. Cruises good with minimal vibes, whisper quiet (REALLY needs a pipe). He's averaging mid 40's for mileage riding semi aggressively. I ran low 12's in the 1/4 on it at the track, couldn't hook up through 2nd gear due to the ST tires. FZ1 Rather anemic off the bottom, power turns on around 6K (must be a Yamaha thing?) and the power REALLY comes on. Ergos not as good, I just couldn't get comfortable on it. Wind protection was marginal, not as good as the bandit IMO. Also cruise comfortably, but required more shifting due to lack of low end. He's averaging high 30's to low 40's for mileage with a similar riding style. With that i got into the high 11's on the track, never really nailed the take off though. FYI I was running 11 flats on my buell. Hope that helps. |
