The s1000rr doesn't run it's best when you first get it, it's very restricted. You have to get this plugin that will basically unleash the motor. I forget all the modes, there is like street, rain, race, and slick. Slick is the one that is disabled until you get the plugin to unlock it.

A stock BMW will do more than 173. It does get up in the 190s. A local got it above 200 slightly modified.
