This will be mandatory equipment at regional races, next season. It's named for Max Mercier, son of former Canadian champion and owner of the FAST Riding School Michel Mercier, who died a few years back after a bar tangling incident resulted in him going into the armco and then getting hammered into it by his bike. This lever guard blocks impact to the brake lever from the front, but swings freely out when hit from the back
