Running through some older titles I picked up on steam sales.

Got it that way. For some reason this one stage burns the barrels at different rates. Four of them will burn in sync but the others drain at different rates. I just decoup before the four that are synced before they fully drain.

I have had that happen on several ships, it seems when you go tricouple on a very large rocket, it fucks everything up. I have started avoiding the stupid tricouple and had much better luck. I finally got a good ship that can make it to the Mun regularly. It looks fucking retarded though, so I call it the flying dumbass.

So mad, I can easily get to the moon now, but I should of had a landing and return this last trip. I got my ship in below the 5 m/s and my screenie shows I was down to 1 m/s and my wing tip still exploded and crashed my ship. Oh well, I am getting a shitload better.

God dammit this game is pissing me off. Every fucking time I restart my ship is different. Either the firing order changes, it's not sitting flat on the pad, some of the boosters don't fire. FUCK! I have to go into assembly every time and rearrange shit.

Just started up the game and the first lift off was good but I timed my decoupling wrong so I blew up. Start over and some fucking how, a tiny has engine some how magically appeared on one of the 9 on the bottom and replaced a big one.

Even when you save and reload the order changes?

Mine only changes when I change parts around. Anytime you delete or add a part it redoes the firing order. Don't set your order til you are completely done building the ship. Then save as soon as you reorder after finishing building it. If you modify the ship in anyway, it goes back to default order.

Landed on the moon tonight successfully with enough fuel to make it back. Screwed my return angle up and floated away to a gloomy death.

Use this tutorial to build your moon landing section, the top section. It works great. Never had good luck with the orbit and travel rocket, I will post mine up after this post.

Here is my rocket, it has morphed from the flying dumbass to the Barrel Roll Mk 4.

The top is that tutorial moon landing sectin.

The inner section is five large liquid fuels and the smaller engine.

The middle six sections are five large liquid fuels with the larger engines attached at the top with the side decouplers and attached to the center and each other with the braces.

The outer solid fuel boosters are in four stages.

Bottom stage is 12 side decouplers with 2 attached to each of the six middle section fuel stacks. There are 12 more solid fuel boosters attached to the inner 12. You have to brace the crap out of these to each other. This bottom ring has to be slightly lower than the middle six engines. This is the ring you want on the pad.

The next 3 stages are just 12 decouplers attached 2 each to the six middle. No braces needed.

The firing order is this.

Bottom 24 solid rockets and 6 middle large rockets

drop bottom 24 solid and start 12 next level solid

drop 12 and start next 12

drop 12 and start last 12

drop last 12

middle 6 will keep going and you can make your 90 or 270 degree turn for the moon at 50km.

drop middle 6 and fire inner small rocket.

inner small rocket will get orbit to moon and get you to the moon and you will drop it with fuel hopefully right before you touch down

drop inner to land and start final engine

drop wings

drop fuel tank/sas/engine

parachute

I don't think I even have an sas module. Made it to orbit once but the srb behind the command module refused to fire so we were kinda stuck until gravity brought it back in. Made a bunch of adjustments and now it flys great for the first stage and spins wildly out of control after separation. Usually lucky if I can get the booster to separate and the chute out before the kerbs get liquified

Get the advanced SAS module. I made it to the moon and returned during lunch. My Kerbal Heroes were victorious.

So I bought the full version for $15. HOLY HELL IT'S HARDER.

Everything is much more unstable, the launch pad is sticky as shit, and there is space trash. LOL Things don't magically disappear in this one.

You can fly multiple flights at a time too and true landing gear, but I couldn't get my rocket to work with them. Made it too unstable.

Had to do some modifications to my rocket. The side decouplers do not throw shit far enough away and even when the solid rocket is out of fuel it will still blow up if hit with another solid rocket boost. I had to seperate, wait for the rocket to fall away a little bit, then ignite; instead of seperating and igniting at the same time.

Made it to the Mun and back already though. Here is some shots. One shot of the tracking station add on shows the boosters I left in orbit from my Mun flight.... :lol:

So how do you navigate to the moon anyway? Is there a pipper on the artificial horizon or some navigation target I'm not aware of or are you dead reckoning? Is there any option to dock sections in space?

Watch that tutorial I posted. You really need to learn the horizon gauge stuff too.

The green cirle wihout the X in the middle is the direction you are heading.
The green circle with the X in the middle is the reverse direction you are heading.
The purple circle with the dot in the middle is the direction of the launch base.
The other purple thing is away from the launch base.

Here is how I get to the moon.

At ~45000m, I make a 90 degree turn following the 270 degree line to the dead center of the horizon. Don't worry about keeping it on the horizon after you get it there, you just need to get it there and make sure the SAS holds it and then you can switch to orbit view (switch back and forth to monitor your stages/fuel and so forth). The heading will drift, but don't worry about it, just leave on SAS.

Burn until your orbit will take you into the path of the moon orbit. Cut your engines off once you achieve this type of orbit. Just the tip of the orbit needs to touch, don't go too far away from Kermin.

Speed up time (be careful, too fast will get you thrown into space forever)

You need to watch your orbit and see when your orbit turns from orbiting Kermin to shooting your off into space because the Moon f'ed your orbit (may take a few orbits to cross paths with the moon to get this.) It should look like a horizontal green line through your ship when this happens.

Retro burn in the opposite direction of the way you are traveling (green circle with X) to about 20 m/s and then kill engines. You should be on a trajectory to crash into the moon now.

Drift until you get to about 250km, slow yourself down to about 100 m/s in the opposite direction that you are traveling.

Keep doing this periodically, BUT SAVE FUEL, I usually do it about 200-250km, 100-150km, 50km, 25km, 10km.

At about 3-5km go down to about 50 m/s. Just be gentle and save fuel, I usually toss my last big stage big at 2km and watch how long it takes to hit. If you don't land on the dark side of the moon (prefer to do this) you can see your shadow as you come down. You need to slow down to about 20 m/s as you get close

You need to watch where your opposite direction is located too. You need to pretty much stop your lateral movement by burning in the opposite direction. It will get screwy as you slow down too. You need to get your ship below 2 m/s to land safely with the wing setup.

Now if you landed on the moon successfully, the trip home is super simple.

Take off at full speed and head in the direction of home. Purple circle with dot in the middle. As soon as you are traveling in that direction, hit SAS and blow your wings off. You need to hit 800 m/s. Turn off your engines when you hit that.

Go to your map and you will see a trajectory sorta toward Kermin in a green line. Speed up time carefully and wait for you to get a orbit around Kermin. When you get this orbit, speed up time to the Ap of your orbit, you need to end up on top of the Ap, if you miss it, just orbit around Kermin again til you hit it. You will save a ton of fuel and you will be low by this point. Once you are back to 1x speed at the Ap, do a retro burn in the opposite direction that you are heading to about 10-20 m/s.

You are headed home now. You can pretty much blow all the rest of your stages and parachute and just speed up time and it will land itself from that point.

If it's a goddamn single player game, you should be able to play ANY time...not just when the servers are up and not on an 8+ hr maintenance window.

It's playable now. First month or two of Fallout 3 was fucking miserable. I waited on New Vegas. Every review I read was that it was completely unplayable until about the second or third major patch. I've only had one game lock up completely on New Vegas.

Owned JC2 for likme 2 years now, and am yet to install it. And the beta was fun. But I just have too many AAA games. Like 132 acroiss two steam accounts. 30+ retail disks, and 15 or so on Origin. Most of those made in the last 3 years.

Finally getting around to playing crysis. Bought all of then on steam sale (1,2 warhwead).
Also playing trine (also picked up 2 on sale).
Occasionally play Alan wake just long enough to hate it.

Didn't get to Alan Wake yet either. Crysis 1 is AMAZING. Crysis 2 is good. Don't bother installing Warhead.

I re-rolled my elementalist....pure lightning....and some tailoring and jewel crafting. Level 19 now...it's starting to pick up for me now that I've found a toon I'm interested in playing exclusively.

You know you can switch back and forth between crafting disciplines and not lose levels in them, right? One toon can every crafting skill levelled all the way up, and just switch back and forth between them as needed.

Ya, there is wicked Karma gear. I haven't spent very much while levelling. I had over 30k karma on my Guardian at lvl80. It got me 3 pieces of endgame gear.

I have all of them except 3 and I can't even finish the first one. It's a grind fest and the shitty save points suck ass. You spend 20 minutes or longer and die/fail at the last 30 seconds and have to start all the way over. Fuck that.

Finished the storyline doing a mostly low chaos run, now I'm trying it again (still on Normal difficulty) and going for as few kills and detects as possible. 'Ghost' is a hard achievement to get :idk:
If that gets too annoying, I'll start over and go for high body count.
Though, I have to admit, choking out as many people per area as I can is kind of fun too.
What? I'm paranoid... every guard or potential whistle-blower unconscious and stashed in the shadows is one less that I have to worry about. :lol:

I been having a blast as admin on that server. I am such a power hungry abusing asshole on there. Yeah, it about killed the game for me. I put it aside for months, but apparently didn't have much to do before I got into the final missions when I started back up. So, I powered through and enjoyed it.

The only thing that has really been giving me a hard time in AC2 are the 'chase down x' missions or the areas where you have to do a lot of Super Mario action. I wish there was a way to lock it into 1st person sometimes so it would quit shifting camera angles on me in the middle of maneuvers. When the camera turns, your direction keys change and it throws me off. Anyway, down to the last few missions of AC2, but decided to take a break for a bit. It's easy to lose a day playing because the missions sort of flow into one another and it's hard to find a stopping point.

Also unskippable cutscenes. Who ever was too lazy to add in, "press start to skip" needs their hands broken.

I got a HUGE backlog. Also not having internet to get on steam isnt helping. Even if you log on and change to offline mode, it never stays in offline. Vif steam shuts down wrong or even your pc shuts down wrong it resets steam and you have to have a connection to get back on. Fuck you valve.

Started playing defiance, it's sorta like a borderlands 2 type mmo.

It's a third person shooter and kinda makes me feel like I am playing halo 1 most of the time. As far as weapons, world, enemies, and repetitiveness.

It's pretty good, I like how if you are doing a mission that someone else is on it sorta just automatically combines you so you don't have to worry about shit respawning to get the mission accomplished.

It's been fun so far, not sure if it is worth full price on steam. Has some bugs that need to be worked out and the ego skills/perks need major work too.

I've been playing DC Universe online lately to the exclusion of everything else. If you play and wanna group up I'm usually on about 9 every Saturday. Search for player name ButtSecksMan.

I was going to try DC Universe on PS3 but then I came to the huge initial download and changed my mind. Now that I've got slightly faster internet (80MB vs 3MB), I should give it another try.

It's a lot of fun. It is a large initial download, and there's an in-game install that takes a long time too. Best bet is to start it before you go to bed. But it's a good time. Takes a while to level up unless you can devote a lot of time to it initially. Pretty much like any other MMORPG.

I hear Kojima is looking for a studio to remake Metal Gear Solid using the Fox Engine from Metal Gear 5. I hope they do it, thats one of my favorite games of all time.

Metal Gear Solid is bad ass. The next one for the PS2 with that gay ass character made me want to punch babies. I wish they would of made it just solely Snake. Those are the only two I played.

Actually I have played the NES one a little bit, but I wasn't a fan of it as a kid and haven't tried it as an adult.

Ive played them all. MGS2 was probably the worse one. Snake Eater is probably my second favorite, MGS4 is decent but Snake is an old man which is kind of a downer but Raiden comes back as a badass cyborg. MGS5 is supposed to come out at the end of the year with the new consoles.

Awesome news, even though I am not a hockey fan. NHL 94 is being redone and updated and put in NHL 14 as a game play mode. NHL 94 for Sega Genesis is one of those sports games up there with the likes of the Tecmo Bowl Series (My favorite being Super Tecmo Bowl for SNES.) It's just that good of a game and fun to play. Looks like they may be making some big changes, hopefully it doesn't effect game play and the enjoyment factor of that old game.

I think thats the last hockey game I ever played; either '93 or '94. Whichever one had the blood on the ice. Thats was around when The Mighty Ducks came out so every kid was into hockey.

FFXIV: ARR. It's a HUGE improvement over 1.0. We'll see how end game fares, but they showed pics of alliances. If they prioritize alliance play, then I can see some fun in the future. I hate the 8 player cap.
