Maybe, besides that was a release of tension after the stresses of battle. This is just a way for bored desk jockeys to take advantage of someone who doesn't know any better.
Almost everyone changes their exhaust to make it louder. I thought that he had a legitimate question. Especially since there are kits of this nature for some bikes. Heck, I drilled out the mufflers on my V-Max until I had the money to buy an exhaust.
