I went to my interview today and I think it went well. She told me I could hear back from in 4 to 5 days. I was the weirdest interview I've ever done...not that I've done many. She asked the questions and someone else typed them on a form. Weird. Let's hope I hear back from them by this time next week. Positive thoughts please! :D

The other job I took an online assessment test called back today wanting me to come in for a personal interview. Then I found out they were trying to hire me for a position in a city six hours from me! :wtf: Somehow that department got my application and resume by mistake so I guess that one is a no-go.

Yeah...I work every weekend. It sucks. I have no desire to be here today.


Although I will say this. My station just won the 2009 National Press Photographers Association's Medium Market STATION OF THE YEAR.

We're pretty happy about that. We've had ALOT of great, Emmy Award winning, photojournalists here over the years. But we've never took first place. We've had alot of 2nd and 3rd. So we are pretty psyched about this.



And no work on the 5D....haven't seen anyone around here using it.

I was in IFC (Interfraternity Council, the guys who are supposed to watch for hazing and whatnot) and they were a huge drinking organization at the same time. It was trdition that if someone held a higher office or was older than you and told you to "go" you had to chug your beer. I was standing on the roof, was tossed a beer that expired 2 years before, was shaken up, and told to chug. Quickest I ever drank a nasty beer in my life.

We did have one of those 3 man water balloon launchers and had a war with some guys on the roof at the fraternity across the street. Just for clarification, that isn't our house, but an apartment that the older guys can live in if they want to.

Mini-Me has only had one boyfriend and she's had him for a year and a half now. I really like him.

She's tomboy like me so she has lots of guy friends. Then there's my son's friends. Between them, that's alot of teenage boys. I've only found one I didn't care for. Most of them are cool. They respect and like me. But I think they fear me too.

There's something about a 15-16 year old kid who towers more than a foot above you snapping to attention and being very polite when you talk to them. Especially when they know you're pissed, and not necessarily at them. :rofl:

I'm still waiting on my unemployment. I got all the paperwork in and even the handy dandy credit card they put it on. But they tell me it's so backed up (typical La) that it can take up to 8 weeks to get the first check....four weeks to get a notice in the mail confirming I'm approved. I applied a couple of weeks ago. Blah.

On a more positive note, my ex employer kept her word. I received a check for two weeks pay as a severance check. I knew I was owed for my vacation pay of one week. Bonus for the second week. Every little bit helps. :)

I found out about the increase through snail mail and the website when I logged on. So it's an increase throughout all the states? Damn....and here I thought La was doing something special. :lol:

I don't know why it's taking them longer. I have called a few times about it and they told me since there's been triple the amount of claims in the last few months it's taking longer.

A friend's took 6 weeks.

Of course, they're probably giving a generalized statement on how long it's taking. That's what I'm hoping for and it'll come in sooner than expected. Or I'm going to be SOL soon if something doesn't come through quickly. :(

There was an average of 3.5 feet of snow in my driveway, hardpacked by the wind.

Our "city plow" consists of 2 pieces of equipment.

1. a Versatile bi-directional tractor with a snowblower and a blade

2. an old beat up chevy pickup with a plow on the front.

THey had only made one pass with just the plow when I cleared my driveway. I actually do more street cleaning with my snowblower than they do. :lol:

My thesis, by Chris.

I came, played with a bunch of cool chemicals and shit. Then I made some big machine that no one really knew what it was, but I did. I played with that for awhile, but then I got bored, so I built a cool garage at my parents place. In that garage I work on my bike, which I intend to start racing, no matter how slow I may be.
After (and sometimes while) working on my bike, I drink beer in copious amounts. After the consumption of said beer, I generally get loud and make bad decisions with random women that happen along.
Days after the beer intake, with proper time to recover from the effects, I again go look at the incredible machine that I have created. Still unaware of its actual purpose, it takes up large amounts of space, as well as my free time. Some day, I will find the answer to lifes question, namely "what does it do?", and once I have that answer, myself and Marko138, the self proclaimed Defender of the Universe, will take over the world.
With that, I feel that I have been an above average student as is made clear by this thesis, and as such, I should never have to work again. Free to race motorcycles, drink beer, and have my way with various females.

Dunno. That's what Becky, the girl who just got fired, told me. People have been calling for references and being told that whomever they're calling in reference to is not eligible for rehire. She knows a couple came in for me and a couple of others.

And the girl who got fired before me (she got fired at the beginning of January) is still waiting for her unemployment!

From what I could gather, between all who've been fired in the last six months are so (since the new central station manager was hired), we've all been done the same way. Model employees then 3 write ups back to back within a week or two...all bullshit. If they want to get rid of us that bad, fine. But don't make it difficult for us to get another job! Most of us have kids to support.

I'm getting really frustrated and stressed over all of this. I've even been putting apps in at convenience stores and little stores. I'll take just about any (legal) job as long as it's 40 hours a week, even at minimum wage. other than the bar end being scrapped... and the tail having a little scratching... everything seems to be in order.... I had my cover on it so no rash anywhere else.

we're having a large thunderstorm and it's quite windy... though I think as my bike was the ONLY one tipped over... the dude that parked next to me in the hanicap spot helped it to it's side... :idk:

I'll get a closer look this weekend... I'm just happy no parts are busted!

I've been here a week and already wanna talk to the manager about this douche... dude shows off his exhaust and stereo every chance he gets... seriously... I came in behind him at the gate... had to sit at a light just before turning into our complex... I had my window down.. so did he... I could hear bass... no words... as soon as we cleared the gate (with the no loud music sign) I could FEEL the bass and hear the words with my window rolled up even... (congrats you've got a nice system... now turn it the fuck down)

anyways... he parked there night before last... and it was still there when I got home yesterday... got up this morning... his car is nowhere to be found... and my bike is on it's side... :idk: probably nothing I can do.... but i am gonna speak to the manager

we lived in a duplex and the neighbors husband finally got out of jail and stayed out for a bit and decided for some reason to kick mine over. biggest part of 2K in damage.
