The Yosh drowns out my 1125 with the baffle in. Even louder with it out (as it is pretty much all the time now)
The only pipes I've heard that drown it out are cruisers, D&D's, and I4's wound up at 16K.

Found one that I would say rivals the gap, but more dangerous. Granted, I have never been to the gap, but just from what I have seen. More elevation change, and just as twisty, if not moreso. Downer is if you bite it, you either run into a mountain face, or fall off a 50 some odd foot cliff. Also, it is less than 2 lanes wide, and no center stripe. so YEAH... cages all over the road.

I know exactly what you're talking about. When they repaved Golden Gate Canyon here, there was no centerline or edge line for about two weeks. I had no reference for picking a line around a corner. Plus I was always looking at oncoming traffic to see where they were. I rode halfway up until I turned around and went home.
And you talked about 50-foot-dropoffs before. Today I went up Mount Evans. No guardrail, no shoulder and 2,000-foot-dropoffs. Straight down.

Actually yesterday was unusually busy all over town. There was a triathlon event going on and there were bicyclists EVERYWHERE! :td: And not just a few here and they...PACKS of 10+ taking up lanes. :willy:
It turned into a short ride. :( That was actually why we hopped on the freeway. I am still trying to work on my lines on my favorite twisties and I was frustrated that I had to worry SO much about the bicyclists.
As long as they are riding single file I don't mind sharing the road. But when an SUV is coming towards me on the yellow because there are bikes taking up his lane I am OVER IT! :tt:

great and cheap way to add some definition to your bike, considering the alternative (buying new wheels) would cost 5000% more.
what do people think about rim stripes/ tape. awesome? tacky? ugly?
Cool...if they're put on straight. I don't think I've ever seen an aftermarket set put on straight, there's always one or two waves. That's why I'll never put aftermarkets on. If there's gonna be a stripe, it'll be from the factory.

You just have to do it right.

You'll be fine on the big track. Listen to the instructors and you'll be fine. The instructors main goal is to teach the basics so you can have a decent day and not wreck. Some noobs take it past their limit and wreck a lot. Take it slow and easy and build from there.

You said paint AND mods, not paint as a mod. And CEO and I were talking about our track set ups anyway (jokingly...he knows mine's better). It is best to keep it as stock as possible, with an exhaust and other goodies, but I agree with you about keeping the paint stock. Plus, if I wrecked my custom painted stock plastics I'd be pissed. Easier to just buy the stock painted shit to replace your beat up stock painted shit.

if u got the dark smoke, its kinda hard to see thru at nite. way less gauge glare, and it looks sweet too tho.
I don't ride at night...and have no plans to anytime soon. And I don't think I have ever looked through the windscreen while riding.
I don't actually know how dark the screen is...it was the only one available for my bike so I bought it. :idk: Anything to get rid of the blue! :td:

Rae... found you some new leathers
Rae, You painted your bike black? Looks good... :sorry:
And ya that burn out lesson was by far the worst I have ever seen. Why must people be so dumb?

My bike will eat yours for breakfast and shit it out around dinner time, then he'll laugh at it because the only thing that didn't get digested was the exhaust slider
If this were possible, your bike would be shitting superior excellence
You said paint AND mods, not paint as a mod. And CEO and I were talking about our track set ups anyway (jokingly...he knows mine's better). It is best to keep it as stock as possible, with an exhaust and other goodies, but I agree with you about keeping the paint stock. Plus, if I wrecked my custom painted stock plastics I'd be pissed. Easier to just buy the stock painted shit to replace your beat up stock painted shit.
Exactly... I'm going to race my bike, then put all the stock parts back on it and sell it that way, then sell all my parts on forums and shit. I'll make so much more money that way.
BTW, my track set up is still better then CEO's
Negative.

So what you're saying is that you'd have no preference over a R6 painted bright pink vs. one painted black? Are they still the same? No, the paint and mods is what makes them different.
stock pink R6 vs stock black R6 of the same year?
Yes, they are the same, performance wise, even though they look different.

Negative, if they were all the same they would put out the same dyno numbers. And my point was to proove that there is a difference. If you were in the market for a bike, would you buy a pink one or a black one? I wasn't talking about performance, I was talking looks. He said it was the same bike. It is not the same bike, we both have different mods and we're both putting out different dyno sheets. The only thing I was doing was busting CEO's balls by saying that, you guys took it way too literal. I know we have the same year bike...that's the fuckin' joke. Move on...

Dumbest statement ever.
I doubt mine is "devalued" by my paint work. Shit nobody I have met yet even knew it wasn't factory.

Even when I go into full tuck, my eyes are still just above the windscreen.

I get down to as far as i can with still being able to see out of the top of my eyes under to top part of my visor. Not necessarily on my tank though. My beer gut might kinda hinder me also though.

Son of a Bitch. While I was getting my tires changed tonight, a new problem with my bike was brought to my attention. When the guy before me had it, his torque wrench was superman. The bolts that hold the calipers were super-tightened and the threads were fucked up. He said the best he could do was 280 per caliper.

On my old Suzuki, I have to take off my right caliper to take off the wheel. And I always used a torque wrench to tighten it down. Yet I still stripped one of the aluminum threads in the caliper mounting hole.
After an hour or so of cussin, I called AAA Metric in Denver: http://www.aaametric.com/. They had the complete kit for installing a metric Heli Coil. By complete, I mean the right drill bit, the right tap, and a bunch of coils in a nice wooden box. That was about eight years ago, and the repair is probably stronger than the other threads.
