One of the best weekends of my life.

While I agree in most cases...Batman Begins and the Darknight were Both kickass...And Its the same cast as the first one (Leading actors anyway) and Troy Duffy is Directing it again.

I Only hope he doesnt ruin it.

And there were a few other sequels that were better or on par with the originals.

Yeah, my family moved off of the farm when I was ten. We owned about 800 acres and rented like 4-5 hundred more I think. Parents started their own business. My dad says he still misses harvesting.

I love farming, I really do... but these hours are getting to me now, for whatever reason.

Corn... it's always a late harvest with that. and we had a lot of rain this fall that made everything later.

about 1500 acres to go... which is about 10 days straight with no problems...

No, I'm the hired hand in a farming operation.
We have 3 full time guys (including myself)
All the trucking is hired out.
Total acres we cover, including custom work, is around 6000 for the year.
Around 4000 of that is corn.

We average about 110 acres a day on corn.

I just started working for them in Sept. Going to the guard in Jan.
From what I've seen and know, when I come back, they will make it right with me through the winter, no problems.

And there is always maintance on the equipment, once we get the big heated shop built.

But also with the guard full time, I could still put in some hours at the farm for extra $$$$$. That's an idea too.

farming. better chance of bonuses and perks (company vehicle, cash bonus, new "toys" etc) more lax schedule, easier time off etc.
Also, paid bar tab and food bill...


its a tough call... that retirement thing is really getting to me though.
